Justyna earned her PhD in agricultural sciences from the Institute of Agrophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin, Poland. She is a bench scientist with a strong background in applied plant science, including plant and fungal metabolomics.

Before joining the Ziółkowski Lab, she held various research positions in academia, including at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, in the group of Prof. Paweł Bednarek, where she studied the molecular basis of phytochelatin synthase function in pathogen-triggered indole glucosinolate metabolism in the Brassicaceae family.

She brings extensive hands-on experience that supports key laboratory and project processes and helps ensure their smooth and efficient operation. Outside the lab, she enjoys staying active and spending time with her family.
