Culture Labs
Phytotron
This facility provides a space and equipment for growing, propagating and collecting plant material. The facility is suitable for the cultivation various plant species such as Arabidopsis thaliana, Hordeum vulgare and Marchantia polymorpha. Laminar flow chamber unit consists of four individual cubicles each equipped with the laminar flow chamber and instrument sterilizer. This unit offers a sterile working environment required for tissue culture propagation and plant in vitro culture maintenance. Growth chambers unit is equipped in climate chambers that are individually controlled and monitored for temperature, humidity and lighting conditions which is essential in research, environmental studies and testing experiments. Growth chambers unit is thermostated area also furnished in incubation shelves providing additional space for plant growth. General laboratory unit offers space for soil and media preparation, collecting seeds and plant material. This unit also holds separate area and equipment for photographic documentation required for plant phenotypic observation.

Stem cells and organoids Culture
In a dedicated stem cell tissue culture room we have 4 incubators and 2 hoods (BSL 2). In order to set up 3D culture we purchased McILwain Tissue chopper (Cavey Laboratory Engineering Co. Ltd.) and the Orbit 1000 digital shaker (Labnet).
Moreover, we have the IncuCyte (Sartorius) – a real-time quantitative live-cell imaging and analysis platform that enables visualization and quantification of cell behavior over time, by automatically gathering and analyzing images around the clock within a standard laboratory incubator.
The genes and pathways changes in pancreatic cells can be further investigated using the CRISPR/Cas9 mediated overexpression and downregulation thanks to the Super Electroporation instrument NEPA21 type II instrument (NepaGene) as well as the Leica fluorescence microscope that both are dedicated for the stem cells work.

Eukaryotic cell culture
The facility provides a space and equipment for growing eukaryotic cells under sterile conditions.
It contains 4 closed laminar flow chamber units, equipped with a laminar flow chamber and storage cupboards. Other basic equipment includes humid CO2 incubators, microscopes, cell counter, water bath, centrifuge and refrigerators. Additional storage cabinets are present outside the laminar flow chamber units.
