Małgorzata finished PhD at Department of Bioenergetics, AMU, did a postdoc in the field of mitochondria biogenesis and function under supervision of Prof Walter Neupert (Institute of Physiological Chemistry at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich). She worked on the mitochondrial outer membrane metabolite and protein import channels’ functional relationships, activity regulation and application as phylogenetic markers. She did a habilitation on Mitochondrial import machineries of Amoebozoa supergroup representatives in 2018. She was also interested in the organisation of the import machineries in Dictyostelium discoideum mitochondria in the process of forming of early multicellular structures. At present she focuses on circular cell free DNA in Parkinson`s disease patients.
