Agnieszka graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology. Then she undertook her doctoral studies at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (Poland), where she studied the molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis of trinucleotide-repeat expansion diseases (TREDs) and worked on RNA-based therapies against these diseases. Next, Agnieszka completed post-doctoral training at Adam Mickiewicz University, which allowed her to deepen her knowledge about multiple RNA technologies and next-generation RNA drugs. In July 2016, she was appointed to an assistant professor position in Prof. Krzysztof Sobczak’s laboratory, where she continued her research in the RNA field, focusing on microtranscriptome analysis and the role of small non-coding RNAs in myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) and fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) pathogenesis.
