Katarzyna received her MSc degree in biotechnology from the University of Silesia in Katowice while she prepared her diploma project at Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg. She then moved to Poznan for her PhD, and worked in the group of Prof. Sobczak at Adam Mickiewicz University. Her PhD research was focused on the pathomechanism of Myotonic Dystrophy (DM) disease and potential therapeutics for DM. After graduating in 2017, Katarzyna got her first grant SONATINA founded by NCN to study the mechanism of alternative splicing regulation by MBNL proteins. In 2021, Katarzyna started a SONATA grant founded by NCN. The research is focused on the mechanism of splicing of MBNL transcript. Katarzyna loves all season mountain hiking.
