Nitheesh completed his MSc in Biotechnology at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, Chennai, India. He used molecular dynamics simulations to study the formation of pores in bacterial membrane by antimicrobial peptides as well as the structure and dynamics of PET-degrading enzymes. Following this, he worked as a Research Associate at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT), studying the interaction between amyloid-beta proteins and neuronal membranes. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD degree in our group, focusing on the rational design of sugar transporter proteins. His research involves modeling different conformational states of the GLF transporter to enable transport of a broader range of substrate molecules efficiently.
