Mehdi graduated in 2011 from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan with a Master’s degree in Agriculture. During his Master’s studies he worked on the efficacy of some mineral oils in comparison with insecticides against Aphids (Aphididae: Homoptera) on wheat crop (Triticum aestivum L). He had been involved in the study of antioxidant metabolism in Arabidopsis thaliana ggt1 mutant lines subjected to oxidative stress by UVB radiation during his research fellowship at University of Padua, Italy for a year. Then during his three years research fellowship at Pusan National University, South Korea, he had been participating in project related to the characterization of Non-TZF Proteins such as AtC3H59/ZFWD3 and AtC3H3 with different abiotic stress responses and phenotypical studies in Arabidopsis. In October 2017, he started his PhD studies in our team and investigates novel miRNAs and their target genes in the response to abscisic acid in Arabidopsis.
