Alex is a young postdoctoral researcher particularly interested by natural factors influencing meiotic crossover level and pattern, especially recombination modifier loci, environmental stresses and polyploidy. His current work aspires to unravel the genetic basis and molecular mechanisms governing crossover variation to better understand how plants adapt and establish in the long run as well as to facilitate the growth of genetic diversity or introgression of valuable loci in crops.
