Espe did an internship in our lab during her bachelor studies and, later, she graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid with a Master´s degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology. During this period, she analyze A. thaliana mutant plants that showed polyploidy and developmental abnormalities during meiosis. In November 2022 she came back to Poznań to eat more pierogis, and joined our lab as a PhD student. Her actual project is based on disclosing new recombination modifier loci using a wide diversity of A.thaliana accessions, using a combinations of approaches including GWAS, QTL mapping and cytological techniques. In her spare time, she is always talking with people while drinking a hot chocolate. She loves cytology and aims to waste all our reagents studying chromosome numbers of a lot of different species.
