Franz is a geneticist working in plant meiosis. He did his PhD in the lab of A-M. Chevre and M. Rousseau-Gueutin in Le Rheu (France). He used a combination of genomics, genetics and microscopy to study the impact of polyploidy on meiotic recombination in Brassica.
He started a postdoc position in the lab of Piotr Ziółkowski at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He is studying meiotic recombination in Arabidopsis and barley.
