Monika graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology under the supervision of Prof. Piotr Ziolkowski. Following graduation she worked at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry in the Department of Molecular Virology.

In October 2025, she returned to Adam Mickiewicz University to start her PhD studies in the Ziolkowski group. Currently, she investigates the influence of an increased frequency of crossing-over on genome stability in Arabidopsis thaliana.
