Joanna Wesoly completed her PhD studies at the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, Erasmus Medical Centre Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 2003, with a dissertation “Mechanisms of genome stability: functional overlap between DSB repair pathways in mice”. Her three-year postdoc position at Leiden University Medical Centre (The Netherlands) concentrated on identification of novel genes predisposing to Rheumatoid Arthritis. In 2006, she moved to Poland to carry out tasks within a project “Introduction of modern functional genomic methods – FUNGEN”, Marie Curie Action, FP6, carried out at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University, where later, till 2009, she worked as an adjunct and assistant professor. In 2009 she joined and co-organized Laboratory of Human Molecular Genetics and established LHTT in 2013. She obtained professor degree in 2017.
