Nikola graduated from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Ludwik Rydygier Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz with a Master’s degree in Laboratory Medicine. Her master’s thesis was an attempt of synthesis and purification of the mutagenic DNA precursor, 2-hydroxy-2′-deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate. She started her PhD studies in Doctoral School of Natural Sciences in October 2021. Nikola investigates modulation of the endogenous MBNL1 expression via novel RNA-based antisense mechanism as an alternative therapeutic approach towards myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1).
