Krzysztof Lesniewicz is an experimental biologist. He finished his undergraduate studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. His PhD research was focused on the characterization of DNA-binding proteins from plant mitochondria. After PhD graduation during the postdoc period he was involved in the study of proteins having poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase activity. This research were conducted in the team of prof. Bernhard Lüscher (RWTH Aachen University, Germany). Then Krzysztof began researching the enzymes, primarily nucleases, involved in programmed cell death in plants. These investigations are currently being carried out.
