Andrzej is a computational biologist. His scientific work focuses on developing computational methods to predict interactions between viruses and bacteria based on their (meta)genomic sequences. He also creates web applications for specific molecular biology problems, such as protein domain prediction and whole-genome sequence comparison. In 2019 Andrzej was a laureate of the ‘Polityka’ Scientific Award for the best young researcher in the Life Sciences category. He is also a moderator of biostars.org, a leading Question & Answer resource for the worldwide bioinformatics community.
