Michał is both experimental and computational biologist. He finished his undergraduate studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and also at Poznań University of Economics. During his PhD studies he worked on the epigenetic control of epidermal development in the lab of Vladimir Botchkarev at Bradford University, UK. He then moved for short postdoc to the Lab of Andrey Sahrov at the University of Boston, USA to study epigenetic control of melanocyte differentiation. He continued his postdoctoral research at Oxford University where he worked on 3D organization of DNA replication in the Lab of Cath Green and on 3D structure of the inactive X chromosome in Neil Brockdorff’s Lab.

After 13 successful years abroad, Michał came back to Poznań to set up his own research group in November 2019. His team is generously supported by NAWA Polish Returns and two OPUS NCN grants. Michał loves hiking in the mountains and taking care of his home fresh water aquarium.
