Carlos studied Biology at Universidad Mayor de San Simón in Cochabamba, Bolivia, where he got his Bachelor’s degree. Following, Carlos obtained a scholarship to study in Brazil, where he got his Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Carlos obtained a scholarship for PhD studies at Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu in Poznan, Poland, where he is currently (2022).

Carlos’ current interests are the development of bioinformatics methods and tools to study substrate–enzyme interactions and understand the effect of mutations on protein function.

Carlos is also interested on scientific graphic design and improvement of data visualization of molecules in 3D space.
